What is the IELTS Speaking Simulator?

The IELTS Speaking Simulator is an AI-powered tool designed to give you realistic practice for the IELTS Speaking test. Choose from Part 1 (introduction and interview), Parts 2 & 3 (long turn and discussion), or the Full Test (all parts combined). It's inspired by our popular IELTS Speaking Simulator GPT, but with advanced features like real-time voice interaction and detailed analysis.

How does the simulator work?

1. Visit the landing page and enter your OpenAI API key (it's stored securely on your device only—never on our servers).
2. Optionally, set a target band score to get personalized feedback tailored to your goals.
3. Select your test type: Part 1, Parts 2 & 3, or Full Test.
4. Begin the voice chat—the AI examiner asks questions based on official IELTS formats, listens to your responses, and guides the conversation naturally.
5. Once finished, review your results: estimated band scores for fluency and coherence, lexical resource (vocabulary), grammatical range and accuracy, and pronunciation. You'll also get a full transcript, audio playback of your responses, question-by-question analysis, improved sample answers, and vocabulary suggestions.

Is the simulator free? What about pricing?

The simulator is completely free to access and use. However, it runs on OpenAI's technology, so you'll need your own OpenAI API key and pay OpenAI directly for the usage. The costs are very affordable: a Part 1 session typically costs less than $0.30, while a full test (11-14 minutes) is under $1.
